We take care of tomorrow! Under this slogan the Darmstadt waste professionals of EAD (municipal company for public tasks and services) can be found at the new location in 33, Sensfelderweg since 29^th August, 2011. 

As a tightly organised company of the Science City of Darmstadt, the municipal enterprise has been constantly growing in recent years by expanding its activities and taking on further public jobs. In addition to the traditional tasks like waste disposal, street cleaning, winter road clearing and school bus traffic, today the company also runs the sewer system, the sewer and road maintenance, and a lot more. The extension of EAD responsibilities in the last couple of years had required modernisation. Centralisation and the new building on the 4.6 hectare site („Knell-Gelände“) have provided substantial economic benefits. For the successful future of EAD it is very important to take advantage of this new starting point.

New location, new offices and enhanced motivation

Modernity and compliance with strict ecological standards do not only characterise the new EAD location. Of course, these attributes had to apply to the furnishing of the offices, too. In close consultation with the customer, PALMBERG developed an ideal office world reflecting the needs of the EAD employees. 

The challenge was to provide concentrated and communicative working. The PRISMA 2 cabinets provided an optimum solution for the additional huge demand for storage space. To enhance customer proximity the furnishing of the new premises allows an even more flexible way of communication with the client. Improved openness and transparency have been designed for the new communication areas.  

The spacious layout will facilitate communication between customers and employees. It is most encouraging that all employees agree that the move to the new offices has brought a significant improvement in quality of work. Particularly, the enhanced communication with one another, the high-quality office furniture and the storage space facilities have been favourably received.
